L'ART BLESSÉ

This catalogue accompanies the 2020-2021 exhibition at Villa Audi- Beirut, and Debbané Palace Museum- Saida. L’art blessé is a new artistic expression inspired by both Kintsugi and trauma therapy. Beirut blast on August 4, 2020 has left us with gaping wounds: loved ones we have lost, physical wounds sometimes, psychological trauma often and of course material destruction. Art in Lebanon has also been affected: artists injured or in a state of shock, works and studios damaged. The Wounded Art exhibition project consists in presenting three types of works: the first ones inspired by the disaster, the second ones damaged, not restored but enhanced by a certain presentation and the third ones transformed by an artistic gesture.
